5 Great Things to do with Crayola Window Crayons

I am a little zealous today with a purchase I made last night at Michael’s.  Crayola Window Crayons!  They come in a 5 pack, blue, green, yellow, black & red.  You can write on any shiny surface like windows (obviously!), mirrors, or even kitchen appliances.  Here are 5 things that we have done today with them:

  1. Colouring time on the windows. A little obvious, but so much fun, no mess, and really easy to clean up.

  2. Writing on glass jars. To organize my pantry, I have been moving all staples to glass jars as I collect them.  I find this tremendously helpful because I can see exactly how much of each staple I have.  In turn it prevents me from beginning to make chili and discovering that I have no chili powder left!  But so far I have been randomly labelling the jars which is a big frustration to my husband who has no clue the difference between paprika and chili powder.  Now they are neat and tidy with labels!

Note: Instructions for cooking are stuck on with elastic band

  3. Writing on containers in the fridge.  Again, I generally know what is in the fridge and how fresh it is.  Others in the house, well not so much.  This leads to food never being touched because the other person in the house whom this applies to does not want to risk opening a container with a science experiment inside.
  4. Writing on my fridge.  Our fridge has black, shiny doors.  They are the bain of my existence when it comes to keeping fingerprints and scratches hidden, but are very useful now that I know I can write on them.
  5. Writing goals and inspiration on mirrors.  This was the original purpose of the crayons.  My friend Angela writes on her mirrors above her treadmill all of her best run times and goals.  I wanted to apply this to our bathroom mirrors.  We have very large mirrors so it will not cramp our style while styling.

Note: Just in case you were wondering, they wash off very easily with water, and do not smear easily if you give it a few minutes to set.

What else can you think of to use them for? How do you keep track of your yearly goals?

How about on containers in other places than your pantry and fridge? would this work in the cupboards in bathrooms, or closets, and maybe on the shelves in the garage and utility room. Labeling the drawers in the garage out here would of been better with your markers, rather than my permanent ones!
Love the idea with the leftovers in the fridge!
I remember a teenage girl writing her phone number on our van’s window one vacation with a black whiteboard marker! Do you remember that? Your marker pens are probably a great improvement on those whiteboard markers, which smeared easily, and sometimes stained.
